Sakura Grove Planting at Southside Park

Southside Park, Sacramento

Saturday, October 28 9:00A - 12:30P

Southside Park is on the cusp of creating something extraordinary and we need your help to make this happen! We are working with Sakuramento, the City of Sacramento's Department of Parks and Recreation, and the office of Council Member Steve Hansen to bring a grove of 28 flowering cherry trees (sakura) to Southside Park this fall. Volunteers will help by planting and mulching the trees as well as beautifying the park.

NeighborWoods Planting at Luther Burbank High School

Luther Burbank High School, Sacramento

Saturday, October 28 9:00A - 1:00P

Join the Sacramento Tree Foundation as we spend a beautiful fall morning completing our first phase of canopying the campus of Luther Burbank High School during National NeighborWoods Month. Fall is the perfect time to fill the campus with 40 more shade trees and mulch its existing trees so they remain strong, vibrant, and healthy for years to come. Luther Burbank High School students and faculty are encouraged to participate too.

NeighborWoods Planting in Arden Park

Arden Park, Sacramento

Sunday, October 29 9:00A - 12:00P

Like many Sacramento neighborhoods, Arden Park faces a declining tree canopy due to an aging population of trees made up mostly of Modesto Ash. More than a decade ago, the forward-thinking neighborhood formed a group to facilitate an annual Tree Planting Project to replace those trees and revitalize their community. This year, we will need the assistance of our TREEmendous volunteers. Together, we can keep Arden Park's tree canopy healthy and beautiful for generations to come.
